Facebook oversight panel says it will review VIP exemption system
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleFacebook’s oversight panel announces a probe of the system that has reportedly exempted high-profile users from its rules, the latest fallout in one of the platform’s biggest crises yet.
The semi-independent oversight board “has accepted a request from Facebook, in the form of a policy advisory opinion, to review the company’s cross-check system and make recommendations on how it can be changed,” it says in a blog post.
