Israel confirms country’s 6th monkeypox case
A sixth case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Israel, the Health Ministry says.
In a statement, the ministry says a 46-year-old tourist came to Tel Aviv’s Ichilov hospital with symptoms indicating he had the disease, which was confirmed in a lab test at the Israel Institute for Biological Research.
As the disease spreads across Europe, the World Health Organization is slated to convene a meeting next week to decide whether to declare the outbreak an international health emergency.
