Jerusalem and Ankara are reportedly in talks for Foreign Minister Yair Lapid to visit Turkey soon, against the backdrop of the threat of an Iranian attack on Israeli tourists in Istanbul.

Several Hebrew media outlets, citing no sources, say there are talks for arranging such a visit but do not say at what stage they are or when the visit is scheduled to take place.

One report, by the Ynet news site, says the goal is to demonstrate the growing cooperation between the countries in thwarting the Iranian attacks.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu recently visited Israel, and President Isaac Herzog spoke today on the phone with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
