Scholz: We ‘agree that Iran must not have a nuclear weapon’

In his prepared statement alongside Prime Minister Yair Lapid, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says the countries “agree that Iran must not have a nuclear weapon.”
He expresses his regret that Tehran did not answer in the affirmative to the European proposal on returning to the nuclear deal.
Standing next to Lapid, Scholz goes to some length to stress Germany’s support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and warns against “unilateral actions” that get in the way of such an agreement.
