US President Donald Trump is set to welcome a group of recently freed hostages to the White House this afternoon.
The hostages who have joined the trip to Washington include Omri Miran, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrest, Nimrod Cohen, Avinatan Or, Bar Kuperstein, brothers Ariel and David Cunio and twins Ziv and Gali Berman — who were all freed last month from Gaza after two years of captivity.
The Hostages and Families Forum says that 17 former captives who were freed last month are taking part in the visit. Twenty hostages were freed under the ceasefire that went into effect last month.
Overall, 26 former hostages joined the group, including a number who were freed in past deals, including Keith and Aviva Siegel and Noa Argamani.
A number of the hostages are bringing gifts to the US president to express gratitude for him pushing through a ceasefire deal that led to them returning home. The group met with a bipartisan group of US lawmakers yesterday on Capitol Hill.
