A border policeman in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam confessed to killing his wife Monday morning, after, he said, she drove him crazy.

The man reportedly shot his wife and then called police to report the murder and turn himself in.

Police and paramedics were dispatched to the couple’s home, where they found the woman with several bullet wounds. Medical personnel declared her dead at the scene.

“I shot her because she was making me crazy,” the man told police, according to Army Radio.

Forensic teams began gathering evidence and police opened an investigation to determine if social services were aware of any previous violent incidents involving the couple.

Preliminary findings indicated that the two were arguing before the shooting.

The husband was detained for questioning.
