Israeli actress Hadas Yaron on Saturday won a top award at the 69th Venice Film Festival.

Yaron was awarded the Volpi Cup for best actress at the prestigious festival for her role in female ultra-Orthodox director Rama Burshtein’s “Fill the Void.”

The film centers on an 18-year-old haredi girl whose sister dies just as she is about to enter an arranged marriage to which she is looking forward. As a result of her sister’s death, the protagonist is asked to marry her widowed brother-in-law instead.
