The man behind a shooting spree outside a Jewish school in Toulouse, France, sent video of the killing to Qatar-based news channel Al-Jazeera, according to French police.

Mohamed Merah shot and killed Rabbi Jonathan Sandler, his two young sons Gavriel and Aryeh, and another young girl, Miriam Monsonego, outside the Ozar Hatorah school last week.

He was shot and killed after a standoff with police on Thursday.

Merah is also believed to have killed four soldiers a week earlier in the same area in the south of France. On Sunday, Merah’s brother, Abdelkader Merah, was charged with aiding him.

Officials told French newspaper Le Parisien that Merah sent a memory card with video of the shootings to Al Jazeera, which did not publish them. Workers at the station sent the videos to police.

Al-Jazeera’s Paris bureau chief Zied Tarrouche said Tuesday on BFM TV that the footage shows the three attacks in chronological order, including two on soldiers and a third outside a Jewish school. The images are mixed with religious songs and the recitation of Quranic verses.

Tarrouche said the voice of the perpetrator and the cries of the victims can be heard but the voices have been distorted.
