The body of an unidentified man was found on a beach of the Sea of Galilee on Saturday morning, officials said.
The body was found by passersby at the Migdal beach, adjacent to the town of the same name.
“When we reached the beach, we saw near the water line the body of the man who was ejected from the water, with no vital signs, and we had no choice but to declare his death,” a senior Magen David Adom ambulance service medic said.
There were no immediate details on the identity of the body and how long ago the person was believed to have died. Images seen by The Times of Israel showed the body was in a state of advanced decay, but still clothed.
Police said the skeletal remains were taken to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv for examination.
