Cancer-stricken Shas minister David Azoulay in serious condition
Religious affairs minister’s status deteriorates, doctors called to his Haifa home; Deri calls on public to pray for him

Religious Affairs Minister David Azoulay of Shas was in serious condition Monday night and doctors were called to his Haifa home.
Azoulay has been battling cancer for some months. He has often been forced to miss work at the ministry due to his illness.
The Shas party’s leader, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, called on the public to pray for Azoulay.
“He requires the mercy of heaven,” Deri said in a statement.
