Autopsy confirms Carrie Fisher died of heart attack
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleCarrie Fisher’s death certificate has confirmed the Star Wars actress died of a heart attack, the BBC reports.
The certificate says the cause of death is “cardiac arrest/deferred,” according to the BBC.
The “deferred” reference means more investigation is needed by the coroner to find out what caused the heart attack, the report says, noting that toxicology tests, which can take several weeks, are likely to be carried out.
Last month Fisher, who found enduring fame as Princess Leia, was hospitalized after she suffered a medical emergency on board a flight to Los Angeles. She died several days later.
