Bennett: Coalition parties must ‘avoid unnecessary ego games’ over draft law

Education Minister Naftali Bennett calls on coalition parties “to avoid unnecessary ego games” over legislation that would exempt ultra-Orthodox students from compulsory military service.

“There is a moderate and balanced solution to the draft law framework that’ll allow us to continue to manage the State of Israel,” says Bennett.

Ultra-Orthodox parties are at loggerheads with Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu party over the legislation, leading to warnings that the continued impasse could prompt fresh Knesset elections.
