Biden flies to airport for final farewell before Saudi swing
US President Joe Biden’s helicopter is arriving at Ben Gurion Airport to fanfare as Israeli officials prepare to see the American leader off.
Prime Minister Yair Lapid and President Isaac Herzog are on hand to bid the leader of the free world adieu as he takes off for Saudi Arabia, where he will attend a summit of Gulf leaders and is expected to speak on steps toward Israeli-Saudi normalization.
US ambassador Tom Nides, Israeli ambassador Mike Herzog and a small honor guard are also on the tarmac to wish the president godspeed.
