CENTCOM confirms fresh strikes on Iran as US prepares to resume naval blockade

The American military confirms launching fresh strikes against Iran for the fourth consecutive night.

In a statement, the US Central Command says the strikes are aimed at “degrading Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.”

“The strikes are taking place as American forces prepare to resume the naval blockade against Iranian ports and coastal areas,” CENTCOM adds.

The US naval blockade of Iran will take effect at 4 p.m. ET (11 p.m. Israel time or 11:30 p.m. Iran time).
