The Defense Ministry urges the public to refrain from visiting cemeteries across Israel on Memorial Day due to worsening weather conditions and strong winds.

Citing assessments from the Israel Meteorological Service, the ministry warns of the risk posed by falling shade structures and equipment set up for Memorial Day ceremonies. The advisory comes as high winds and dry heat raise safety concerns nationwide.

Major fires are raging in the Jerusalem hills area, fanned by the strong winds.
