Gantz calls on Netanyahu, Edelstein to join vaccination push

Defense Minister Benny Gantz, speaking at the opening of his Blue and White party’s faction meeting at the Knesset, calls on Likud lawmakers, including former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to give their public backing to the current national vaccination campaign.

“I appreciate Netanyahu and [former health minister Yuli] Edelstein for their contribution to the vaccination campaign that began a year ago. I therefore ask them to take part in the vaccination effort now and to call on the public to get vaccinated,” Gantz says.

The call comes amid a renewed government effort to promote vaccination as the Omicron variant begins to push coronavirus cases up.
