Gunfire is reportedly heard on the Lebanon border, near the northern city of Kiryat Shmona.

Hebrew-language media say there may be clashes in the area between the Israeli army and infiltrators from Lebanon.

Meanwhile, local authorities order residents of the town of Metula to remain in shelters until further notice.

Many residents of Metula have evacuated south in recent days amid repeated attacks by Hezbollah and allied Palestinian factions.
