Haifa daycare teacher unknowingly brought rabid dog to work, exposing children
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Health Ministry says that 18 people were exposed to a stray dog infected with rabies near the central town of Jaljulia earlier this month.
The dog was adopted by a Haifa daycare teacher who brought it with her to work after bringing it to a veterinary clinic which deemed the animal to be healthy.
However, the dog went on to attack five children and four adults at the daycare center, Channel 12 reports.
The dog was then taken back to a clinic where it was diagnosed with rabies. The dog collapsed and died shortly thereafter, the network says.
