Hamas to respond to US ceasefire proposal within hours
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA senior Hamas official tells The Times of Israel that his organization is presently studying the American ceasefire proposal, and that the organization’s official response will be given in the coming hours, or on Saturday.
According to the representative, if Israel accepts US Secretary of State John Kerry’s proposal in its present form, there’s no doubt that it will positively influence Hamas’s decision.
He adds that the Americans presented general guarantees via Qatar to remove the blockade. At the same time, he emphasizes that the American ceasefire proposal explicitly indicates that Israeli military operations must stop and so must the demolition of tunnels.
