Hof Ashkelon mayor: ‘Let the IDF smash Hamas’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHof Ashkelon Mayor Yair Farjoun slams the “boundless gall and stupidity of Hamas’s leaders.”
As his regional council is targeted by multiple rocket barrages this morning, Farjoun tells Israel Radio: “I expected the quiet to continue, but deep inside I was also concerned that these neighbors of ours have trouble doing business. I hope the government gives the army the space to go in and smash Hamas.”
The council is now opening its “war room” and “switching back to emergency footing,” he says.
Hof Ashkelon is adjacent to Gaza, so residents have only 15 seconds to reach shelters when sirens sound, Farjoun reminds Israeli listeners.
