In 2006, Netanyahu warned against hasty electoral reform
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleWhile Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now pushing for a swift change in the law to hold a special election for prime minister, he has in the past warned against impetuous electoral reform.
“The electoral system is not a pair of socks… that you change every day. It has to be discussed seriously. It’s very complicated. You need the best brains in the country, and maybe some from overseas,” he said as opposition leader in 2006, according to archival footage aired by Channel 12.
