Israel reportedly barred from tourism fair in Italy
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleReports in Italy say that Israel has been excluded from a local tourism fair over the war against Hamas in Gaza.
The reported move comes after the mayor of Rimini on Thursday urged the organizers of TTG Travel Experience to cancel Israel’s participation in the October 8-10 event.
Mayor Jamil Sadegholvaad, in a joint statement with head of the Emilia-Romagna region Michele De Pascale, said on Facebook that Israeli presence would be “inequality” and urged the organizers, the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), to “reconsider the presence of the Israel stand.”
“We really don’t think that today it is ethically and morally acceptable to propose as holiday destinations places of war, terror and death,” they said.
