Katz promises to settle scores ‘on all fronts’

With fighting threatening to ramp up in Lebanon and Gaza, Defense Minister Israel Katz appears to promise retaliatory strikes in both locations following attacks on troops.

“No account on any front will remain unsettled,” Katz offers in a terse post on X. “We will forcefully defend our soldiers and citizens.”

His comments come after overnight reports of strikes in southern Lebanon, following an attack on troops early Saturday in which three soldiers were wounded. Israel has not confirmed the reports.

Earlier Israeli strikes killed 11 in Lebanon, according to local authorities on Saturday.

In Gaza, an IDF tank was struck by a Hamas explosive device in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, in what the military said was a violation of the ceasefire in the enclave. No troops were injured in that incident, which came days after Israel resumed strikes in the Strip following a week-long lull.
