Knesset defense chair demands ‘sharp, powerful’ response
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee calls for a “sharp and powerful” response to renewed Hamas rocket fire.
“It looks as though Hamas hasn’t taken a sufficient beating,” says MK Ze’ev Elkin. “Most Israelis agree that you can’t surrender to this sort of blackmail,” he adds, a reference to Hamas’s refusal to agree to a ceasefire that doesn’t include opening a seaport in Gaza.
“Lifting the siege on Gaza would simply mean more rockets, larger rockets, more precise rockets, so they must not be able to achieve that goal by more rocket violence,” he adds.
