Palestinians report unofficial truce till 8
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAn unofficial truce between Israel and the Gaza Strip will be in place until 8 p.m. this evening, Palestinian news agency Ma’an reports, citing sources sources close to the talks in Egypt over a permanent ceasefire.
Ma’an quotes “well-placed sources in Cairo” as saying the truce will be in place as mediators continue to try to reach an agreement over an extended cessation of hostilities in the coastal enclave.
The sources say that with Egyptian mediation, the two sides have “agreed to almost all main points that need a solution,” adding that only “limited” disagreements remain.
Agreement has been reached “on the majority of the subjects concerning the Palestinians,” the sources say.
