Palestinian negotiators in Cairo are still mulling an extension of a ceasefire with Israel set to expire within hours on Friday, a member of the delegation says, as Israel said rockets from Gaza landed in its territory.
Egyptian mediators asked the Palestinians during a long overnight meeting to extend the 72-hour ceasefire, and they will reach a decision before it expires at 05:00 GMT, the delegation member tells AFP.
“Egypt asked us for a 72-hour extension, we will meet now to decide before 8:00 a.m. (05:00 GMT),” the official says.

Delegation members in Cairo had accused Israel of stalling the negotiations on their demands for an end to the blockade of Gaza and the release of prisoners.
Israel had indicated it would be willing to extend the ceasefire.
