Police deploying heavily in Jerusalem’s Old City for Ramadan prayers

Police are deploying in great numbers around today’s Ramadan prayers on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City amid a high alert following last night’s deadly shooting in Tel Aviv. According to Haaretz, thousands of police officers are deployed around the site.
Despite the string of recent terror attacks, Israel has decided not to limit attendance at Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Tens of thousands of West Bank Palestinians have been granted special permission to enter Israel for the prayers and tens of thousands of east Jerusalemites are also expected to take part.
Violent clashes between Palestinians and security forces have broken out several nights this week at the flashpoint Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.
