Police exhume body of girl, 37 years after murder, as new evidence emerges
The remains of 12-year-old Nava Elimelech, who was violently murdered and dismembered in 1982, have been exhumed, after investigators uncover new evidence in the case.
37 years after her death, Elimelech’s body is taken to the Abu Kabir forensic institute for testing. Police do not elaborate on the nature of the new evidence and a gag order is imposed on the case.
Elimelech’s family approves the move.
The young girl’s remains were found along the coastline, 10 days after she went missing from her home in Bat Yam. The murderer was never apprehended.
