Police planning on indicting Deri for tax fraud, not bribery — report

Police are planning on recommending Interior Minister Aryeh Deri be indicted on tax fraud charges, but not on more severe allegations of bribery, due to lack of evidence.

Channel 10 reports that police are close to completing the corruption probe against Deri, who has been questioned nine times as part of the investigation.

Deri is suspected of diverting hundreds of thousands of shekels in state funds to NGOs run by members of his immediate family, as well as suspected tax fraud linked to the sale of apartments to his brother.
