Report: Links between ICC prosecutor, UN watchdog could jeopardize integrity of sexual misconduct probe

Questions have been raised as to the integrity of the International Criminal Court’s external probe into sexual misconduct accusations against its top prosecutor, according to a UK report, citing his ties to the Independent Oversight Mechanism, which is tasked with the investigation.
The Guardian quotes ICC staff as saying that links between the prosecutor, Karim Khan, and the UN watchdog body could jeopardize the impartiality of the investigation into claims that he tried to coerce a female aide into a sexual relationship.
The concerns have been raised to the ICC, according to the report, which comes days after the court announced its external probe into the allegations, and US senators apply pressure to not issue arrest warrants for Israeli leaders over the war in Gaza.
