Sa’ar thanks Zelensky for signing law criminalizing antisemitism in Ukraine

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar thanks Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for signing a law introducing criminal penalties for antisemitism in Ukraine, including a prison sentence of up to eight years.

“The ammendment (sic) constitutes an important step in the fight against hate crimes, particularly Antisemitism,” Sa’ar says in a post on X.

The law was signed on Tuesday, Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day, by Zelensky, who is Jewish. The legislation was overwhelmingly supported by the country’s parliament, according to local media.
