Sheba Medical Center announces that its global health tech innovation arm, ARC, officially launched a startup accelerator yesterday called ARC Landing Boston, in partnership with Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey.
Thee accelerator launches with six Israeli startups, which have raised $85 million to date, says a spokesperson for Sheba, also known as Tel HaShomer. The Boston hub will allow other Israeli companies to “accelerate and get a footprint” in America, the spokesperson adds.
The hub will also work with international companies. Currently, ARC’s global platform has more than 130 startups and a portfolio valued at over $6.7 billion.
The spokesperson says that ARC Landing Boston will work with local health care facilities, including Boston Medical Center and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
“We’re proud to be developing the new wave of healthcare innovation, not just here in Boston but around the world,” says ARC Landing Boston CEO Dr. Yonatan Keschner in a statement.
