The Shin Bet security agency says the military has arrested a group of Palestinian suspects who allegedly attacked Israeli vehicles on the Route 5 highway in the West Bank two weeks ago.
According to the Shin Bet, on November 19, the terrorists placed improvised spike strips on the highway, near the town of Zawiya, and opened fire at Israeli cars.
Several vehicles were damaged by the spikes and the gunfire, according to the Shin Bet.
“Immediately after the attack, forces worked to locate the terrorists, and arrested suspects involved in the attack based on intelligence information from the Shin Bet, and transferred them for further interrogation,” the agency says.
Another member of the cell was detained yesterday by IDF forces, and a weapon used in the attack was seized, the Shin Bet says.
