SodaStream offers jobs in Israel to Syrian refugees

Israeli company SodaStream is offering to employ 1,000 Syrian refugees in its new plant in Rahat in southern Israel, the i24News website says.

The company says that it and Rahat can absorb 1,000 individuals, or up to 200 families, and is offering a chance for a new life in Israel, pending approval from the Israeli authorities.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated, however, that Israel will not take in any Syrian refugees.
