Supreme Court extends sentence of ‘Loaves and Fishes’ church arsonist

The Supreme Court has accepted a petition from the State Attorney’s Office to extend the prison sentence of Yinon Reuveni, who torched the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes in northern Israel in 2015.

In December 2017, Reuveni was sentenced to four years behind bars for the arson attack.

The court agreed the original sentence was too lenient and gave him an extra year and a half, taking into account the fact that the 23-year-old had targeted a holy site and that it was a nationalistically motivated crime.
