Turkish source says ceasefire talks progressing
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleTurkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu meets with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal in Doha to contribute to efforts for a ceasefire with Israel, a Turkish government official says.
“Negotiations are progressing in the right direction,” the official, speaking under condition of anonymity, says.
The unscheduled meeting is held following a telephone conversation between Davutoglu and his American and Qatari counterparts Thursday night.
“We are working with Qatar on a draft for a ceasefire,” the Turkish official says.
