A panelist on Channel 12 news tears into Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, who is regarded as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s most trusted minister, accusing the American-bred official of not being “deeply Israeli.”
After the network aired a segment on Dermer that highlighted how little known he is within Israel despite being Netanyahu’s closest confidant, Amnon Abramovich describes him as “cultured, polite and kind, but he is not deeply Israeli.”
“He came at age 26. Why didn’t he do the army?” Abramovich goes on, during a Friday night studio discussion. “His basic [life] experience is not an Israeli one. I don’t think he knows the difference between [the late iconic Ashkenazi and Sephardi singers] Arik Einstein or Zohar Argov.”
“Ron Dermer doesn’t know where Rafah is, and if you put him in Nir Oz, he doesn’t know how to get home,” Abramovich asserts, referring to Gaza’s southernmost city and a southern kibbutz where Hamas-led Palestinian terrorists committed atrocities on October 7, 2023.
“He’s a good guy, but if I was going to write an article and needed to give it a headline, I’d go with ‘Fiddler on the Roof.'”
