President Isaac Herzog sends a Ramadan greeting to the people of Iran, expressing his hope “that this reign of terror will end and that we will see a different era in the Middle East, where all these proxies have gone away and [there is] a different future for the children of the Middle East.”

Visiting the Civil-Military Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat, which oversees the Gaza ceasefire, Herzog also sends Ramadan greetings to Israeli Muslims and those in the region, including in Gaza: “We wish them a month of peace, a month of recovery, and a month of hope for the people of this region and the people of Gaza.”

Herzog is briefed by IDF CMCC head Maj. Gen. Yaki Dolf and CMCC Director US Maj. Gen. John Bowlin.

“We are looking forward to a future of hope in Gaza following the decision of the Board of Peace and the implementation of the 20-Point Peace Plan of President Trump and the UN Security Council Resolution,” says Herzog. “You see something being created. You see something new. You see hope in the air, and you see very serious plans that can offer a different avenue for the people of Gaza.”

In what could well have been a deliberate move, the Government Press Office’s footage of the event does not blur out a report on Hamas civil and military governance of the Strip slipping. The report notes that Hamas’s ability to respond to fires in Khan Younis and the Mawasi area is limited, that Gazan students are demanding that they be allowed to leave to study abroad, and that the Bank of Palestine in Gaza City is refusing to recognize Hamas-issued IDs.

The report also asserts that Gazan bureaucrats and elites view NCAG — the new Gazan technocratic governance panel — positively, calling for it to enter Gaza from Egypt urgently and oversee the resumption of services. “This indicates a pragmatic, service-oriented acceptance,” says the CMCC report shown to Herzog.
