A man died Wednesday evening after his paraglider crashed in a field near the Jerusalem-area city of Beit Shemesh.

Police and rescue services found the man unconscious near Kibbutz Tzora. Medics attempted to resuscitate him, but shortly after declared him dead on the scene.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear. Police said they were investigating.

Last year, a 67-year-old man was killed in a paraglider crash in northern Israel, within the same month after two men were seriously wounded in Modiin due to a similar incident.
