The Bar Refaeli guide to Tel Aviv
Vanity Fair details model’s favorite watering holes, places for retail therapy, and ways to get away from it all at home
Ever wonder where beauty queen Bar Refaeli goes when she’s back in her homeland?
Refaeli, who was given the title of hottest woman in the world by Maxim in May, tells readers all about her fave locales and pastimes in a Vanity Fair feature published at the weekend.
Naming Tel Aviv as her place to get away from it all, she explains that, “Since I travel so much, I go home when I need some time off to relax and recharge. Spending time with my family and friends is my favorite thing to do.”
The model’s favorite restaurant for local cuisine in the non-stop party town is, surprise, her brother’s trendy eatery, Zinc, known for stir-fry and vegetables. When it comes to watering holes, she likes the stylish bar, Otto, of which there are a few branches around Tel Aviv.
Retail therapy? She shops at designer stores on Dizengoff Street or chic boutiques at Hatachana, a new compound built around the historic Ottoman rail station.
But really just a girl-next-door, Refaeli wants to hang out with her friends and go to her favorite beaches. Hence the one essential in her suitcase: “Always a bikini, because I never know where I’ll end up.”
Refaeli also indulges in Israeli reality TV, and admits to a penchant for “Game of Thrones.”
Most of all, her favorite location is her parents’ house. “Since I don’t go very often and I’ve been traveling since I was 18, I just like to wake up and have coffee with my family, hang out, and be around them as much as I can.”
