‘You are all that matters to me’: Report reveals top aide’s intimate notes to Trump

Letters written by Natalie Harp, a close aide to US President Donald Trump, in which she professes complete devotion and shares intimate feelings with the commander-in-chief, have sparked concerns over their relationship even among Trump’s team, according to a recent report.

The two letters, written around the time of Trump’s visit to Scotland and Ireland in 2023, were received from sources within the president’s 2024 campaign by Michael Wolff, author of “All or Nothing,” a best-selling book about the campaign. They were then published in full by The Daily Beast.

They were written when Harp was 31, and the then-former president was 76. Today, Harp earns an annual salary of $150,000 as an executive assistant and is known as Trump’s “gatekeeper,” even being one of a handful of people who were secretly swapped out of Air Force One with Trump in Turkey after a security threat.

“I’m sorry,” one of the letters began.

“I thought I was the only one left behind last night, and had no idea Margot’s car was also pulled over, and sent back to the Airport,” she wrote, appearing to refer to White House communications adviser Margot Martin, who was also a part of Trump’s visit.

“Since I was alone in the van outside Customs, without my passport, I panicked, and should have just called Secret Service instead of you,” she wrote.

She also apologized for being an “embarrassment walking the course in Scotland” instead of being in the golf cart. The Daily Beast said that pictures from the time indeed show her on the course.

“If there is anything else I have done to cause you trouble, please forgive me,” she said. “I want things to always be right between us. I also know I’ve been distracted all week (forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting to sleep, and only catching a couple hours at a time).”

Harp admitted to “letting the remarks of people who haven’t bothered me before, get to me — not because I care what others think, but because I see myself being lowered in your eyes and good opinion.

“That is the fear, you see, because I never want to bring you anything but joy. I’m sorry I lost my focus. You are all that matters to me. I don’t want to ever let you down. Thank you for being my Guardian and Protector in this life,” she wrote, signing off, “With all my heart, Natalie.”

In a second letter, she continued to express her appreciation for her time with Trump on the trip, and longed for his company.

“For the first time, in I don’t know how long, you forced me to ‘unplug.’ We could be out on the Course, with no machines, and even forget what time it was! I didn’t have to be ‘Human Printer,’” she wrote, referencing her nickname, which she received thanks to her role carrying a portable machine to print out documents that Trump asks for.

“I could take time to enjoy good conversation, and still get all my work done at the end of the day. In fact, I even had time to take long morning and evening walks to enjoy each Sunrise and Sunset (though I did forget to eat and sleep!),” she wrote.

“I had no idea how rapidly I was approaching burnout, and starting to envy those whose only ‘job’ seems to be to talk with you and look pretty. I want that job!!” she told the president.

“So many times, I’m just trying to stay afloat with all that’s coming in for you, I look like a hunchback who didn’t have time to freshen up. (at least you know what I should look like)!” she continued.

Harp also expressed longing for her role on the far-right OAN channel, missing her “Talkshow days” when he would call her and “we’d talk about everything and nothing.”

“I want to get back to that synergy. We shouldn’t have to talk about work all the time!! I’ve always felt like an in-betweener, somewhere between Staff and those you enjoy talking to on the Plane or at Dinner, because that’s who I used to be to you when I was a ‘Talkshow Host’ (as much as I hated that actual job!). I wish I could hear every conversation, because that’s when you’re having a good time, getting away from it all, at least for a few moments,” she wrote

Harp defined her goal as becoming a “better version who will make you proud.”

“And please, when I fail, will you tell me? You have the absolute right to cuss me out, if need be, when I deserve it, because no one knows or cares about me more.”

Wolff said on a recent episode of his podcast that after members of the staff discovered the letters, there was a “revolt.”

“The aides around Donald Trump knew that he was spending too much time with Natalie Harp, that her influence was growing, and it was influence based on nothing at all. She had no experience,” he stated, adding he received them from “an extremely reliable source.”

Wolff said: “The relationship here is not a relationship that should exist in a professional setting.”

Harp’s estranged brother Preston told CNN last week he thinks his sister has an “unhealthy obsession” with Trump.

He told the network he believed her “infatuation” with Trump was not a “physical attraction” — but stemmed from the fact that she believes Trump saved her life.

Harp has said she suffered from terminal bone cancer, but was cured because of experimental drugs she had access to through a program brought in by Trump in his first term.

While she rarely speaks in public now, she became a fixture at Republican-linked speaking events where she would tell the story, and also appeared on hard-right cable news.

“My good Samaritan,” Harp said when she appeared on stage with Trump at a “Faith and Freedom Coalition” meeting in 2019.

“I wouldn’t be alive today, if it wasn’t for you,” Harp said at the Republican National Convention in 2020.

Commenting on The Daily Beast’s report, a White House spokesperson said: “Natalie Harp is one of the most loyal and hardest-working aides on President Trump’s team. The Fake News’s continued attacks on President Trump and his Administration prove exactly why trust in media is at historic lows. The media should get back to reporting real news and stop regurgitating Trump-Deranged liberal talking points.”

Additionally, on Saturday, CNN published a review of Harp’s now-deleted X account, highlighting over 150 posts backing Trump’s false election fraud allegations on January 6, 2021, when rioters broke into the US Capitol in an attempt to halt lawmakers’ counting of Electoral College votes.

Harp cast pro-Trump demonstrators who rioted at the US Capitol as “patriots” and encouraged people to “STOP THE STEAL!”

In one post, she wrote “FIGHT FOR TRUMP!” over a dozen times, and then, as rioters broke into the building, spread false accusations that they were “not Trump supporters,” but rather far-left Antifa agitators.

She later shared the then-outgoing president’s call for the rioters to head home.
