Police arrest suspect in south Tel Aviv bakery stabbing

A 25-year-old Jaffa was arrested Friday on suspicion of stabbing 27-year-old East Jerusalemite Ashraf Tawal to death in a bakery on Hahagana St. in south Tel Aviv.

Police were still uncertain of the motive behind the stabbing, but planned on bringing his before a judge to extend his detainment.
Around 5 a.m. the suspected murderer and Tawal, both bakery employees, began fighting. The suspect stabbed the victim in the torso with a sharp object.
The victim was taken to the Sourasky Medical Center Ichilov in Tel Aviv in serious condition and died of his wounds thereafter. Police began searching the area for the suspect.
Relatives of the victim arrived at the scene of the crime afterwards and caused a disturbance and damage to property. Six were consequently arrested.
