Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav said Monday Israel is not adequately equipped to provide emergency services in the event of a war on its northern front.

Speaking at a conference marking six years since the breakout of the Second Lebanon War, Yahav said that in an emergency situation, “there will be no gas stations, ATMs will not dispense cash, there will be no milk in the supermarkets and cellular services will not work”.

Yahav is also chairman of the Haifa Economic Corporation.
