Firefighters gain control over blaze that threatened homes

Families evacuated from Kadima and Tzur-Moshe

The Ilanot-Kadima forest, in the central Sharon region, caught fire on Monday afternoon and threatened nearby homes before dozens of firefighters, aided by planes, gained control over it.

According to Army Radio, police helped nearby from residents of the towns of Kadima and Tzur-Moshe evacuate their homes as the blaze spread.

Earlier on Monday, a small fire started in Ra’anana, causing a scare, but emergency crews managed to quickly extinguish it.
