An 18-year-old shepherd was killed in southern Lebanon Saturday after stepping on what was said to be an Israeli cluster bomb, Lebanese media claimed on Saturday afternoon.

The shepherd, Hisham Abdel-Al, was said to have been working on a farm in the southern Lebanese village of Hallat when he accidentally stepped on the bomb and was killed on the spot.

The bomb was said to be ordinance left over from the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon, in which Israel dropped numerous cluster bombs over the country’s southern areas, many of which host Hezbollah headquarters and operations.

The IDF has neither confirmed nor denied the reports.
