Tehran arrested several members of a terror organization tied to Israel, the official Iranian news agency IRNA announced Tuesday.

The Tuesday report by IRNA says several “mercenaries” were arrested in different parts of the country and that large quantities of weaponry and telecommunications equipment were seized.

“Terrorist team busted in Iran,” was the headline of the article, which stated that Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence identified and arrested a “Zionist regime-backed terrorist team.”

Their plans to execute terror operations inside the country were foiled by their arrest, according to the article.

Details of the arrest will be released later.

Iran periodically announces the capture or execution of alleged US or Israeli spies, and often no further information is released.
