Unknown vandals broke in and desecrated two synagogues in the souther moshav of Ezer, approximately halfway between Ashdod and Ashkelon, overnight Thursday.
Residents noticed on Friday morning that the door to the town’s main synagogue had been busted open. Inside, they saw that the Holy Ark had been broken into and that Torah scrolls and other ritual objects had been severely damaged, according to Israel Radio.
Similar damage was discovered in a nearby synagogue, which is housed in a trailer.
Police were searching for suspects and no arrests had been made by Friday evening.
