Petah Tivka police released a woman Thursday evening who was arrested earlier for allegedly cursing, throwing a shoe at, and spitting on the wife of the prime minister during a visit to a Petah Tikva shopping mall.

The suspect, restrained by mall security after the incident, was detained by police for further questioning. After inquiries with eye witnesses, the police found that the suspect neither spat at nor threw a shoe at Sara Netanyahu.

Police believe the suspect may suffer from mental illness.

Netanyahu is no stranger to criticism. She has been accused by a series of former nannies and domestic staff of verbal abuse. She suffered no physical injury in the incident.
