A 14-year-old girl died Tuesday after being found unconscious during a school trip in northern Israel.

The victim was identified as Suha Mondar Zabhana, a resident of Haifa.

Zabhana was at a go-kart track with her classmates near the town of Ma’alot. She was found inside one of the cars, which was not moving.

The girl is believed to have suffered from a heart condition, but there was no immediate word on the official cause of death.

It was unknown her death was related to the karting activity. Police did not announce an investigation.

The Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya said the teenager underwent resuscitation efforts for an hour at the scene before being brought to the hospital in critical condition.

Once at the hospital, medical staff continued efforts to revive her for another 20 minutes, before declaring her dead.

“We share in the sorrow of the family,” the hospital said in a statement.
