3 brothers to be charged with murder of Kafr Kanna resident over business dispute
Investigation reveals the suspects shot Nissim Hamza in May after he ended a business partnership with their father

Israel Police announced Monday morning that an indictment would be filed against three brothers suspected of murdering a resident of the northern town of Kafr Kanna in May.
The investigation revealed that the brothers decided to murder 49-year-old Nissim Hamza after he dissolved a business partnership between him and their father, according to the Ynet news site.
The suspects were caught on video ambushing Hamza in his car and shooting him before fleeing to the West Bank. They were later arrested in an apartment near Jenin.
According to the Ynet news site, residents of Kafr Kanna described Hamza as “a good person” and claimed he was not involved in a business dispute. Friends and family of the victim said he was an “honest and honorable person who helped people” and that those involved in his killing needed to be punished.
The killing comes amid a violent crime wave that has engulfed the Arab community in recent years, with more Arabs murdered in 2023 than in any previous year, according to a report by the Abraham Initiatives.
Many community leaders blame the police, whom they say have failed to crack down on powerful criminal organizations and largely ignore the violence. They also point to decades of neglect and discrimination by government offices as the root cause of the problem.
